| "Time
flies with Lace and Murals..............!" Greetings from Dublin!
Midsummer here, but our weather changes season by the day. Meanwhile, my life
is hectic with both lace projects and mural art. I have been giving lacemaking
workshops for one and two days, with a couple of lacemakers bed-and-breakfasting
in my home as well, and more dates are planned for the coming months, so anyone
interested in further details, please email me - ann@annmargaretkeller.com
All levels, including complete beginner, are welcome. I have taken on
the position of Honorary Editor of the journal for the Guild of Irish Lacemakers
this year, and have been working on themed journals for the season - the chosen
theme is The Sea, so I am working on designing bobbin lace patterns with shell,
fish and seaweed motifs. It is a wide ranging subject, so the imagination can
really spread! Ideas are multiplying, so the upcoming issues should hold nice
temptations for lacemakers to get working on something new. Anyone interested
in the journal should log onto www.irishlace.org
The mural art continues to grow, both in my own home (when I can catch
a moment!) and outside. In recent months I have enjoyed decorating wardrobe doors
to blend with beautiful classical drape curtains in a bedroom, turning a dark
passageway into the Grand Canal in Venice, and have just finished bringing the
tropical jungle to a small kitchen-dining room in a tiny townhouse, complete with
specific species of butterfly and hummingbirds! Also, I have recently
been over to Germany to view a hotel-cafe in the lovely Palatine wine country
near Frankfurt. It is being renovated as an Irish themed hotel, and I have been
commissioned to go out and paint a series of murals there in early 2006 - so watch
this website for photos of that exciting adventure next spring! Meanwhile,
I have also begun taking picture commissions - that is, paintings on canvas rather
than only wall murals, and you can see some recent examples on the updated pages
of this site. Click HERE to view them. Whether
lace or art brought you to my site, I hope you continue to enjoy it, and visit
again often - and please email me, I would love to hear from you! Good
wishes to everyone from the Green Land - Ann.
