Pompeian touch for a master bedroom.

This big empty wall behind two single beds and small tables is given  a whole new world by artist's brushes.  The full width of the wall has been painted to seem we are looking over a wall into a Pompeian styled garden, and at the side we see a worn stone pathway and steps leading up to the garden terrace, which is filled with flowers, birds are singing and butterflies fluttering.  A cat slumbers in the undergrowth.... and in the distance are the ruins of Pompei and shaowy view of the Bay of Naples and Mt. Vesuvius.

An antique Indian rug gave the idea for oriental themes in the artwork for a guest bedroom where old furniture took on a whole new life under the artist's brush -dragons for the ends of a bookcase, bamboo and storks for a wardrobe and butterflies and flowers for a bedside cabinet.

The foxglove sprays on the curtains in this bedroom gave the starting point for the theme of the trellis painted over the bed, with shadows and butterflies to add the feel of a summer's day.

This small bedside table is given an ancient world touch with motifs derived from Pomeiian painting...

Scenes of the Irish countryside give character to a big bedroom, while the softly sunlit sky warms it, and decorative details on ceiling cornice and cupboards give an elegant finish.

In a small bedroom in which the bed has to face the door instead of the window, the back of the plain door is turned into a doorway to a foreign, fantasy courtyard, complete with doves and lily pool, with views of Morocco beyond the painted colonade. Storks fly across the blue morning sky.

The old man and the cat were a special request by the client, a recreation of a scene from a visit to that part of the world. The painted muslin drapes provide the perfect 'dressing' for the illusion of looking out from indoors.
